I’m waiting to see a rheumatologist and have been told that the wait is 9months to a year- shocking. However my doctor has written a expedite letter to the specialist requesting I get seen much sooner as I’m an urgent case, I’m not really sure why I’m urgent I don’t know what other kind of problems people go to the rheumatologist for compared to mine, it’s for suspected lupus and I’ve been admitted to A&E 3 times for pericarditis with chronic tachycardia but otherwise reassuring ECGs. They found my antinuclear antibody, double stranded DNA antibody and RO antibody levels were all high which is why they think lupus. Does anyone have any information on these antibodies as I’ve googled but it’s hard to understand? And anyone had a similar experience and can give advice about seeing the rheumatologist, what to expect etc?
