my therapist just hung up on me saying she doesn't feel comfortable with me as her patient anymore due to how I've been in appointments and that she's referring me to another clinic but who knows who I'll talk to or how long it'll take to be seen by someone. I don't know what to do

She's honestly doing the best thing for you. I've had this happen to me. At first, I felt totally defeated and like something was wrong with me, but sometimes it's not either persons fault. Maybe she specializes in treating a different mental illness that you don't have. Maybe your therapist works best with patients who want activities, and you would rather just talk (or vice versa). Therapy may be a medical treatment, but it works best when both sides fit like a puzzle piece. You're not just a client and this is not just her job. You are a human who will build a communicative relationship with another human over the next so many years. If you guys didn't have that spark, therapy won't work. It's good that she's giving you that chance to find someone better fit for you rather than string you along because it's a 'job'.

It sounds like recently I've seen a lot of therapists treat their patients like this.

@PickleNew yes, but update, I moved to a new office and turns out the person in set up with is an old school counselor and I loved her. We're both exited to meet on Monday
I might not be a therapist but feel free to message me if you ever need to talk to someone, I’ve been told I’m good at giving advice, and I’m a good listener
@Mouse12144 thanks

oh God. she sounds like a horrible therapist. I really hope you can find a better one soon!! That is extremely unprofessional and not at all your fault. I really hope you're able to figure it out and find someone else soon!! always here to talk if you need it :] good luck+

@dandelion_flower I don't see that as being a horrible therapist. We don't know just how severe or not severe this person was behaving during sessions. Therapist are people too. I would say she didn't have to tell them the reasons for dropping them as a patient, but then again I'm sure the person would just complain about not knowing why their therapist refuses to have sessions with them. At the end of the day you can't please and help everyone, and apparently this therapist realized that. The best thing they could do was suggest them getting someone else that is better equipped to handle the situation and behavior.
