Does anyone else ever struggle with the fact that your medication means you have “artificial happiness”? Idk how to explain it but sometimes I feel like because I’m on medication that’s basically causing me to be artificially happier, that I’ll never actually be real happy, im not sure if that makes sense but it’s almost like a sense of guilt or shame about not being “real happy”

I understand how you're feeling. I know look at it by thinking, if I had a headache, I'd take a tablet, same for feeling down, it's just a medicine that helps me feel better ❤️

i don't exactly feel like this, but i do get really scared about losing my medication sometimes. i don't even know how it would happen, but the thought of needing to go off of it for any reason is terrifying because my normal state of mind is so bad 😞 needing to rely on medication to function is nerve wracking in that way

YES! but I think it’s some sort of self sabotage unfortunately. i’ve experienced this with depression/antidepressants and narcolepsy/stimulants. i’ll be feeling alright, and i’ll think “is this what NORMAL people feel like? I wouldn’t feel like this without my meds”
@Waterlemon YES! Exactly!
Edit: like I’ll catch myself being in as happy mood and think “oh it’s only because of my medication that I can feel this way” and I hate feeling like that
