Honestly I just sleep a lot. I can only take so many meds and I only work 3-4 hour shifts partially due to my migraines
Uhm I don’t actually deal with them very well. I have had issues with my jobs in the past because when I have a migraine it incapacitates me for up to two days and they’re quite frequent. Luckily I have had a few jobs that are understanding and work with me but I’ve definitely had to work many shifts battling my hardest against a migraine because I hate leaving work if I’m already there. I’m honestly considering applying for disability benefits at this point because they’re so bad for me and my work always has issues with me for it. I literally push myself past my breaking point frequently just to keep a job so hopefully there are better suggestions here than mine
@Fluffsy That being said I keep excederin migraine with me at all times and if I catch a migraine coming I take my pain medicine right away and that can actually work for me to prevent a migraine if I catch it

I couldn’t go to work. I’ve tried every medication and finally found one that really works: Emgality. I’m also about to try Botox. They say that works too.

How do I "deal" with them? Not well, I'm afraid. My migraines go from behind my eye, over the top of my head, behind my ear and down the back of my neck, so you understand the area I treat. You might have different places that you would focus your attention, but, I like rubbing the back of my neck with capsaicin cream, the stuff that makes you feel like your skin is on fire, or an ice pack on my neck, but those seem to melt fairly quick. I will arrange my head on a stack of pillows so my neck muscles are are stretched as far as comfortable, and when I am at a 10 on the pain scale and can do nothing else, I kinda tangle my fingers in my hair and lay in a way where I'm pulling a little bit. Nothing hard, I'm not ripping my hair out of my head, it's just enough to relieve the pressure a little bit. The two things that have helped my migraines, frequency and intensity, you'll need to find a medical professional to help you with. First, I'm prescribed sumatriptan, which you take as soon as the symptoms come on and it relieves it pretty quick. I wouldn't say it goes away but it eliminates the overwhelming symptoms and I can function normally. I'm still kind of irritated, but definitely not at full migraine. The other is getting steroid injections directly into the nerve in the back of my head. Sounds terrifying and it is for one tiny second, but after it starts to go in, I don't know what happens, it's like an evil spirit floats away from my head, I don't know how else to explain it. It lasts 2-3 months, then you gotta do it again, which is scary and it hurts, but oh my goodness, the instant relief alone is worth it. It's REALLY a godsend. Now, finding someone who will inject you, not as easy. I just ran into a provider at a walk in clinic once, it took me two years before I found someone else who could do it. But, ohhhhh!!!! It is the answer. You should look into it.

Have you tried ice cap? Or acupuncture or chiropractor yet?
