my lymphedema is in my legs. left leg is the worse. I can control the swelling to a minimum but not the pain. I have days where my legs feel so heavy, weak and hard to walk. at times my knees bother me too. Is this normal?

Mine are also in my leg, left was the worst. 6 weeks ago I went to the ER for cellulitis, fast forward a week after getting there and I'm being scheduled for emergency surgery for necrotizing facillitis. And I learn I am a full blown type 2 diabetic, my sugar was s dangerous 602!! My surgeon wanted to amputate above the knee, my husband pleaded with him to give me a chance. He did but have me a 10% chance to heal... 6 weeks later I just had the wound vac removed and my picc line, my chances are now up to 60%, but I'm still at an extremely high risk for infection, tunneling etc. I took a few steps with the walker the other day, that gave me a lot of hope! The pain is unreal and I'm gaining so much weight between sitting all damn day with my leg up and newly being on insulin. Ofc the diabetes makes this all much more challenging, I won't heal if I don't keep my sugars down. I try to stay positive and take one day at a time. I often wonder, how will I walk again if I struggled to walk with the lymphedema prior to the infection and surgery?! If I get even one infection, if I don't heal properly... Amputation is the ONLY solution! I am determined.. I will do this!!!!

Us I feel that all that swelling and fluid is what causes that pain. Pushing against all of those areas that really don't have space designed for all that. It probably bruises it you'd think. I dunno just a thought...πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š

I don't know, but mine feel the same way... How do you control the swelling? I've been in one heck of a flare and I'm all over the place! I don't eat any extra salt and eat low Sodium. I can't be on my feet for very long before my legs and feet start blowing up.
