how do you handle doctors just blaming your period and not actually listening

Honestly it took my mom. It shouldn’t be your responsibility to be the doctor but doing your research and asking about different diseases, check ups, and medications helps a lot. Ask them about these pathways and sometimes getting mean is what you have to do. It’s unfortunate but I found that you sometimes can’t take no as an answer.

Oh my god I’m so sorry!! I used to go through this all the time. Sometimes I would get them to listen because I would describe the amount I was bleeding, like really really heavy and lots of clots, went through a maxi pad in an hour. If I wasn’t currently bleeding and they would say it’s pms before my period or whatever bs, I would say really firmly that this pain is DIFFERENT, that I’ve had periods all my life and this is different. Sometimes it helps to describe the difference in pain to the doc (I.e. “my period is like a constant cramp, but this pain is more like a sudden knife jab that comes and goes”) or something like that. Best of luck to you. I really feel your pain- docs can really suck sometimes. it feels like you’re just screaming into the void while your pain worsens. 😖
