I am fighting with my doctor to put me on pain management till my hip operation but the staff is giving me a hard time. I am in excruciating pain and I’m still working. Is anyone on pain management?

Hi! I haven’t been begging for pain management as my doctors say pain meds won’t help! But yet until my BMI is reduced they refuse to do my hip replacements! In the meantime the strain on my knees is making it feel like my knees are now starting to fail me! Why is it ok for medical professionals to put off an important surgery that hinders peoples health and lifestyles

You can try different doctors but they’re all the same now there’s no doctor unless you are like a rich Hollywood elite person he’s going to write you a real opioid prescription and that just isn’t fair but that’s just the situation I am extremely disappointed about that myself
@Buggirlx exactly! And if you’re insured most of the time you are limited to the drs you can and can’t see! Like mine-if I go to any other drs it’s out of network and NOTHING will be paid! It’s just not right

Try asking a friend for a pain management doctor or pick one yourself.

I scheduled my surgery for may . I guess I’m going to have to wing it on Celebrex and gabapentin till then. The doctor is adamant about the pain killer thing. I’m just going pray the months go by quickly.

My advice would be to find a new doctor. I am under pain management program under a doctor that deals with that area only. I have pee tests every so often to make sure I am using the most recent medicine prescribed. I started on tramadol and now I am on hydrocodine/acetaminophen, I am trying to stay with that med until my knee surgery in April. I did have to turn in the tramadol when I started hydrocodine.

No doctors give out pain meds anymore unless you have a private pay doctor and don’t use insurance. Celebrities can get both legal and illegal drugs if they have money to pay for them. Real people have to live with pain😡

They went overboard on the opioid hysteria and this is the result. It’s ridiculous! So sorry

Yes this is the new thing apparently. Just distract the patient from any discussion on pain meds. Or blame them somehow for the pain! Or tell them to take a Tylenol 🙄. Oh gee like we never thought of that. I was on Tramadol Vicodin and morphine PO last time for my other hip! But now for this other one a Tylenol is going to cut it?!! I think not! I am so disgusted with the medical profession right now.

I’m in excruciating pain every day… I have degenerative arthritis. I had X-rays done a few months ago. Turns out one of my disks has slipped. I get nothing but a scolding about how if I lose weight it’ll go away
@Andi71 I get so sick and tired of weight being a flaw! I’m tired of being fat shamed while in need of medical help that they refuse
There’s no excuse for that! Can you change doctors? I’m on Gabapentin for nerve pain.
