Dealing with Refusal of Pain Medication

Has anyone who has chronic pain, had problems with doctors not wanting / refusing to prescribe pain killers when you’re clearly in pain?

Most doctors I’ve run into yes! I was able to get a referral to a pain management doctor and started on gabapentin about a year ago. I have to keep meeting with her to keep my meds and occasionally get injections as well (she’s 2 hours away), but it’s very worth it imo. If you can push for a pain management referral I highly suggest it

I actually just got referred to a pain management doctor but I’m just worried they won’t believe I’m in pain bc I’m young and I’ve always had horrible experiences with doctors.
