I went thru some pretty serious domestic violence and was strangled back in August. I'm living with some family for now but I left everything behind and walked away from my lease with my apartment. are there any organizations to help get established again and help with deposits, furniture etc.. ?
I'm so sorry to hear that, sounds like my situation. Message me if ya ever wanna chat. My situation happened in 2006, so I've been around. Can you get on a housing list, for a section 8 voucher? Ot may take time but worth it. Do you have a salvation army pr rescued treasures? Sometime they will do vouchers for bedding/furniture. I'm sure I know of more help but I won't think of it all at once. My mind doesn't work on demand. I wish you the best!
That’s a terrible situation and it’s awful to hear that you had to endure it. I had to walk away from an unbearable situation, too. There’s an organization in NJ called Women Aware. I suggest calling them & asking for support. (I’m unsure of where you live, but they make know some resources.) Or, contact your local Human Services division. Google: Domestic Violence Assistance or Homeless Assistance.
