Need advice for domestic abuse and homelessness

I'm a survivor of domestic abuse I have trouble with trusting someone, but I knew that to save my life I had to get out. I called the police for help when he was gone, it does hurt because you feel like a failure but through. Therapy loving family and friends, I'm able to have some days that are happy. I'm engaged to a wonderful man who is helping me, learn that I can think and dress however I want. I have hard days in thankful for everyone, that helps me everyday to get my self worth back. you can also be a survivor it's scary to take that step, but it will help you be able to live life with a smile and less worries.

Do you have a domestic violence shelter where you live? They can help a lot.

all i can tell you is get out. my mom works for a foster agency and we see a lot of domestic abuse in and out daily. if you can, compile as much evidence against the aggressor as you can, it’ll help build your case. pictures of markings, maybe a video of them threatening you, things like that. take it to the police & they shouldn’t be able to deny you. stay safe out there <33
