I just found out I have afib…. I need to be on blood thinner and I’m so scared. Does anyone have experience with blood thinners?

I have been on Eliquis for 3 years or more years. They put me on it because of my Afib. I also am a breast cancer survivor of 5 years. I have had no problems with it. I seldom think about it. I just take it every day.

@Ceig Thank you haven’t decided what to do. Take blood pressure medicine and cancer medicine and not sure I want to take blood thinners too…what med do you take for afib? Do you get out of breath
@Babies I have had three ablations. I also have high blood pressure but that it’s totally under control now. I take no medication for afib because it was causing my blood pressure to go up for some reason. I no longer become out of breath. My heart rate was getting as low as 33 at night only. I had a pacemaker put in. I seldom have any afib anymore. When it does happen it’s about once a month and only for maybe an hour. Al have a Apple Watch that helps me in so many ways to manage my problems. Good luck
