I was diagnosed with afib in December while hospitalized for covid. I didn't have this before covid. My question is, just recently my heart has gone back in rhythm, but I have been taking eliquis. if I stop taking that once the cardiologist says it's no long needed, will the afib return?

Thank you so much. That's just what I was afraid of. I will make sure I mention my fear to my cardiologist when I see her.

I also take Eliquis but I was told if the Afib is gone I can then quit taking it. The only important thing that the Eliquis does is to make it harder for someone who is currently having Afib episodes end up with blood clots.

That's what my hubby said. Covid has left me in a bit of a brain fog. Thank you for reminding mešŸ‘

I’m off the elequis and just take one baby aspirin every day. My doc said that was enough. I was told you should take blood thinners for 2 months after car diversion which is what I have
