I was on the phone with my bf and he was sounding hopeless and getting mad at the world cause he's such a good guy but a lot of bad stuff keeps happening to him and is talking about hurting himself, how do I help him? He said he has no one except me, I even asked about his parents and he said they're fake and don't actually care, I need help, if any of y'all have suggestions please lmk

I’m not sure entirely what you’re going through, but if you ever think someone is in immediate danger of harming themselves it’s a good idea to tell someone. Besides that, you are definitely being a great support for listening, and sometimes there isn’t a better thing to do than to be a receptive listener for someone who is struggling. If your bf isn’t already seeing a psychologist, psychiatrist, or even a therapist, I would suggest that as a next step if it’s feasible for him. Not everyone is able to access these resources but these people are usually able to assist you through these types of distress. In addition I hope you are also finding the time to take care of yourself, as being a great support can often drain or distract yourself from your own caretaking, and sometimes exacerbate our own similar experiences.
