I'm looking for fast de-escalation techniques that help to curb frustration and hopelessness. I get physically destructive (non-violent) when I'm upset out of like... a self-harm urge? if anyone has any tips or free workbooks or exercises I'd appreciate it a lot

      Hey, so I just started using this trick where any time I have a self harm urge, I take an ice cube and squeeze it in between the palm of my hands. It’s painful, but I try to breathe through the pain until the ice melts completely (or almost completely). I try to be as present as possible so I close my eyes and focus on my senses. After a while, the urge eventually goes away and I feel less anxious or angry. This is what has helped me so far.
