So today has been a rough IBS & anxiety day. My siblings are going out for food and drinks tonight and I'm kind of mad I can't go. I miss being able to socialize over some drinks or whatever and have minimal issues but now I can rarely touch the stuff, food including. I just feel left out sometimes which is definitely a trigger for my depression and then I fall into that hole all over again. I don't know why I'm writing this as I'm not asking for help on anything so I guess I'm just venting. Maybe someone else can relate..

I can relate for sure. I suffer with problems at least 4-5 days a week, especially in the mornings.

@Drewsdad08 I'm a morning pooper too. It's so exhausting. I have to lie down with the heating pad for a bit before doing anything most days. It's rare when anyone will see me outside of the house before noon.
@Cookiee yeah being in absolute agony for 4-5 hours after getting up is just horrible
I can totally relate it’s a vicious cycle of making plans to go somewhere and having so much anxiety of playing the “what if” game which then triggers my ibs. Now I feel even more depressed like a loser and none of my family understands what it’s like

@Freya83 Exactly! It's like they need an answer now but I can't give it to them until the day of normally so I either try my hardest to go or just say forget and get all upset and miss out. It's ridiculous we have to go through this shit. I don't have a whole lot of support either even though they try to understand which is great, but it does nothing if they don't take into account the stuff I cannot do with them.
It sucks and I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I'm often the one who cancels plans at the last minute because of GI or the myriad other issues I have. It's isolating for sure. Sending love.
@Magpie42 It really does suck and I'm sorry you have to go through that as well. I've been trying to be less hard on myself about it but it's not easy. Thank you for your reply. Best wishes.
I can't relate due to stomach issues (though I have plenty lol) but I can relate due to my horrific social anxiety which keeps me at home.
@Kato yes! Social anxiety is bad and then it causes more stomach issues for me which then makes me sad and more anxious. It's like I'm at a point where if it's going to cause me any kind of pain, I'm avoiding it. It's depressing.
