Hello Alike peeps! I am having foot surgery this Friday, 11/18. My surgeon prescribed 3 meds. 1. diclofenac sod EC 75 mg, delayed release, 30 day supply (NSAID) 2. Sulfamethoxazole TMP DS for 10 days (antibiotic) 3. Hydromorphone 2 mg (dilaudid) 28 pills (narcotic) I am worried of becoming dope sick. I have never taken a narcotic other than for tonsil removal and again with wisdom teeth surgery when I was a minor and my parents only let me take it for one day. Any tips on how to ween off the dilaudid? I think I will be in a lot of pain from having the joint replacement implant and like I said I’m worried about withdrawal / detox. My surgeon has not been helpful with my concerns about this. He says I will be ok. Pharmacy said if I’m worried then to take Tylenol instead. Is there a good in between???
