Feeling numb is part of the depression. That's why people end up cutting themselves. It's because feeling physical pain is easier to deal with than nothing at all. I've been where you are. I honestly would talk to your medical doctor. Because there is a way to feel better and not feel the numbing.

Like Brook said, that numbness is your mind protecting you from painful feelings. Have compassion for yourself and know your body is doing its best to care for itself, even though it doesn't always manifest in the best ways. It's scary but it won't be like that forever. When you feel numb, try to tap into your physical sensations. What do you feel? How is your body reacting? Scan your body, use your senses, and hopefully it'll bring you back to the present moment a little more. Maybe try journaling out the things you're thinking about to process them. Time will heal. So will therapy and medicine.

@BrookXbangtan thank you, sometimes my heart hurts yet it feels numb and I don’t even know how to explain that feeling.

@RoseAlpaca the best way to describe it is a blank sheet of paper. No creases, nothing. And when anything happens, a little dent forms. And over time the paper is worn down in some spots, a crumpled mess even. It won't ever be new again, but you can straighten it to be usable again. Being numb is a coping mechanism. Emotional pain is the hardest to deal with. Hence why our brain does what it can to stop that feeling.

I wish I could answer this for you. I think you are feeling things, just maybe having a hard time pointing out what. When I starting feeling numb, I realize it's generally because I'm so sad that I'm trying to numb that feeling too.

@BlueeyedSnowBunny it’s hard because I’m in a relationship with someone and when I go numb everything turns off. This has ended my relationships before yet this one is special.
