When Your Illness Defines You

Yes sometimes it's situational though it's when I have a reminder of the trauma. After that it maybe a few weeks later but I remember the therapy I've had and still go to and am able to work through it although alot of times I don't even realize the trigger because before I started working through childhood trauma I repressed it so usually atm I don't understand why I'm triggered

As a person who went through child abuse, I feel like our Nparent/s molded us (as parents are supposed to do, only positively) to care for their own needs, not the needs of their children. It's hard to break through that and feel like your own person, because for so long you were caring for others, not yourself. I'm really struggling with trying to find my own person and fully break that trauma bond
