I recently learned that although mental health and the cyclical nature of it may feel like it’s a circle diagram, where you feel okay on one end of the spectrum and feel badly on the other end, it is actually more like an upward spiral diagram. It looks more like a spring. The contents of the spectrum stay the same, but you learn new coping mechanisms and more about how to deal with the symptoms under high stress situations. You never go back and forth, but instead repeat the same feelings in new variations and are always moving upward. This gave me hope.
