Has anyone heard of “transabled”? I just heard about it and it pisses me off so freaking much. Like I don’t want my disabilities and pain. I want to have a normal body. And there are people out there who want to act disabled for attention or something without all the actual limitations and pain? Who want to use mobility aids they don’t need? If I could walk without my crutches, I would. This is so ridiculous.

Hi! Transabled is not a term that is used widely. I have Body integrity identity disorder which is what I believe you are referring to. Mine comes from a huge amount of pain and suffering that has led to the inability to perceive my leg to be my own. I also have schizophrenia and I listen to the voices daily tell me that my leg is possessed. It is extremely distressing for me. I am so sorry about your suffering and I do believe there are people who just have a fetish that claim to have this illness which makes me angry. I hope this clears up some of your queries, I hope you are well ❤️

Muncheusen syndrome is a disorder where people try to make themselves sick for attention. There's also a different one where people will try to make their kids or other people sick for attention as well. While it is very annoying and frustrating sometimes it's because of a disorder. Sometimes it's also just people are just attention seeking jerks unfortunately. My dad is a paramedic and he has calls all the time of people faking things and it's so obvious and annoys him so much. One girl tried to fake bells palsy and she would relax her face when she thought no one was looking. It especially annoys me when people are faking it and don't even know anything about what they're faking. You can tell their uneducated people making crap up like a certain YouTuber pretending she has DID and other YouTubers who actually have it don't like her. Even people who don't have it don't like her as well. I would totally give her name but you might know who it is anyway and I don't want to call anyone out 😅
@upsettispaghetti One girl on one of his calls also faked passing out so he blew on her face and sure enough she flinched 😂
Transabled isn’t a thing. It was mostly a term made up by transphobes who wanted to make a nonexistent connection with transgender individuals. The correct term would be body integrity identity disorder (BIID) which is basically an extreme form of body dysmorphia which someone feels as if a body part or body function doesn’t belong to them. A lot of people with this disorder are even encouraged by mental health professionals to act upon the intrusive thoughts and take away body parts, ability to see, etc.

@Kazoo0416 people shouldn’t do this. People shouldn’t make themselves disabled. This is so frustrating and invalidating to the struggles and pain of people with real disabilities

@Student_girl it is frustrating but also you should know that they aren’t necessarily doing it because they WANT to be disabled. They just feel that said part of their body doesn’t belong to them and it causes them significant and serious distress. It’s okay to be frustrated or upset but it’s harmful to call them “transabled” not only towards them who have a serious mental illness but towards trans individuals.
@Student_girl damn straight
@Kazoo0416 oh thanks for explaining that.
I agree with you 100% It's very insensitive to people who actually have to deal with those things. I've seen people trying to "give themselves" certain afflictions and it makes me so uncomfortable.
