I've started sh again, not enough to send me to hosp, just a bunch of small scratches. I want to stop.

Do you believe in God? He saved me and He can save you too!

I haven't sh in 7 years. I admit I still get the urges but I have started coping with it differently. I started out flipping a rubber band on my wrist. I've taken red markers to my arms. Rubbed ice cubes on my arms or legs. Try one of these things when you get the urge to cut. I hope this helps!

Many people didn't understand when I self hářmed, but it was when I was hurting so bad on the inside that I would try to inflict sharp pain on myself to make my mind forget the other pain. I also miss it at times because it can be comforting when the inner pain becomes unbearable, and sh can also become addictive. What helps me not to do it anymore is the memory of my wife's and kids' faces when they found out what I was doing. Sad, confused, horrified looks. I will forever see them in my mind.

What has you down to make you want to do that?

@Shillo honestly I don't even know. I just kinda miss it, you know? I oddly find comfort in doing sh. I have episodes that make me extremely paranoid about anything I hold dear to me, and I recently had a horrible dream about my husband dying. I'm actually traumatized from it, not exaggerating at all

@zannygirl have you tried talking to your husband letting him know about your dreams? I understand being traumatized but what about healthy coping ways? I don't know you but sh leaves scars and I bet your a beautiful person inside and out.
