The nightmares are coming back.. I can't control them, and when I wake and then fall back into slumber, it's as if I never woke at all. The nightmare starts just where it ends. I know C-PTSD is, well, complicated and complex. I just wish I could handle it on a decent night's rest.

I also have C-PTSD, I take seroquel to help me fall asleep and it's been helping me for about a year now. No nightmares or dreams even, but I wake up rested. Not sure if medication will help for you. I also went to EMDR therapy for my PTSD specifically and it helped! Let me know if you have questions or need to talk
@tiramisu how did emdr help you if you don't mind my asking?

@StoneHaven_System I also take seroquel to help me fall asleep, so I don't have too many nightmares or even dreams
@StoneHaven_System it does cause memories to resurface, so totally understandable if that's stressful for you! It helped me to control memories and I think I needed to experience the pain in the memories again to fully get through it. It's not for everyone!
@tiramisu I looked into emdr. It is actually dangerous for me to participate as it could worsen other conditions... I've already broached the topic with my therapist.
