So, I have been using a cane and walker for a few years now. They are great for temporary use. However, I have nerve pain from my neck to my fingertips, and I can't always hold myself up. When I asked my doctor for help.... he sent a referral for a new walker. It is good as mine keeps breaking, but I am slowly losing the ability to go places. I live in a small town, and there are many obstacles just to leave my block. I don't like being a block away and feeling like I can't even sit up on my walker. I have even debated putting a belt or something to "buckle" me in. I wouldn't have to worry as much. Should I call my insurance to see what other options I have? I can't switch my primary doctor as he is the only one I found willing g to work with me with one of my medications. I don't know what to do. Am I missing any options?

One of the replies suggests calling the number on the back of your health card/medicare card and speaking to someone there. They can help you get a primary care set up or help you find where you can get yourself a power chair. Another reply suggests using mobility aids like crutches, canes, or custom knee braces, and gradually improving strength with walking and physical therapy. However, these are just suggestions and it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
