Well, on the bright side I'm not sleeping on the street... however, I'm still homeless. (Finally managed to get into a shelter that will keep me and my husband together... which is necessary because of my social anxiety and schizoaffective disorder.) It's been just over a year now. I'm losing hope that it'll ever change. I've lost jobs because of my mental health issues and so working is not exactly an option for me and he's been having a hard time finding work in his field (forklift operator). I'm trying to get on disability but it's slow going. I truly don't know what to do!

Get an attorney for disability. It will probably take a couple of years and that sucks but you will get back pay. I went through it and having that small but stable income gave me time to work on my mental health without the distraction of money.

Do you have access to medical care? A doctor could possibly refer you to a social worker, case worker, or non-profit organization that could help you get on your feet. Sending you love and light 💕

I'm really glad that you and your husband are able to stay together. I'm part of a small activist group, would it be okay with you if I reached out to my group to see if I can find some resources for you? No promises, but I can ask if we have anyone located out there and if they know of services that might help you out.
