I’ve been in the hospital for a week today with Dilantin toxicity… 2 days ago we finally took dialysis off the table because it came down! It was going up and down a little then straight back up and I’m not even taking it anymore! All my symptoms are gone finally but my last level was 44 (for those who don’t know normal is 10-20 and toxic starts at 30). Mine was originally at 58.2. They have no idea why it’s not fully out of my body left alone not in toxic range. I fell a few days ago when I was still dizzy soooo now I can’t take a shower and have a sitter with me at all times and ugh. I’m ready to go home! A week without a shower and in the hospital. 😭

I had that issue but the doctor I was seeing wasn't seeing results and didn't change my meds. He actually upped my dosage and caused more toxicity, by the time I found out that he was doing this, it was too late. My brain is even worse now because of that. I only found out because I changed doctors and was told what the toxicity levels were and what my levels were. The doctor I changed over to was shocked I was still alive.

I have to have someone help me shower. Idk I stopped being shy about my body since seizures just are so exhausting. An rather not have tangled dirty hair. I'm always bed bound at being admitted. Usually I get my partner or even family to do help with showering because I once had a tech that was really rough with my hair.

@Sadako I’m fine with someone helping me they just wouldn’t let me at all. The doctor finally said okay today. PT said I was fine as we’ve been walking up and down the hallways everyday without help. I’m always a fall risk due to the seizures, it’s just annoying

@Florina I'm a fall risk, but they let me without PT. It may come down to diagnosis because I'm undiagnosed an left with pseudo seizures, as a diagnosis but I can have a full pstd episode, be in a car accident and not have a seizure due to stress of it. So it could just be that I'm undiagnosed and my hair looks like crap after two days anyways.
