Hey! My name is Loo and I use they/them & he/him pronouns. How do y’all sleep with this chronic pain?? because I’m at my wits end! I don’t ever sleep comfortably and I feel like my bed is trash, or rather all beds are trash, sleeping horizontally seems to only be adding to my pain! (Not to mention it’s kind of sensory hell)

get a pregnancy pillow!! the best sleep of my life has been this set up: i have an L shaped pillow. My head goes on the short horizontal part and the long vertical part goes between my legs/knees. i then put a firm pillow on top of the horizontal portion to keep my neck at a good level. i then put a less fluffy/firm pillow under my ribs so that there is a little pocket between my neck and ribs for my arms to fall into and i typically put my hand under the pregnancy pillow. it’s so comfy!!

lots of pillows and a heating pad, but even so i have to move a ton in the night
I sleep with a memory foam pillow a regular pillow I have a body pillow and when my neck acts up a special pillow that puts it in mild traction. I also use indica dominant weed before bed and a heating pad
hey loo! try elevating the head of your bed by 6inches. Target sells bedrisers of this height. you can get a 4pk for $8 and use 2 of them. first night feels like a ski slope but it gets better quickly! this has helped me stay asleep w my chronic pain and POTS.

If you are in a state where it's legal I would give marijuana a try. There are some strains specifically for pain and sleep that help me a lot.
You're welcome well the pillow I hug is a firm pillow so it doesn't sink down forcing everything to stay aligned but I do know there's like a pregnancy body pillow that wraps around you that's to die for I just can't afford it lol. Yeah I also just joined today with covid and a Cross country move and stuff has me feeling very isolated. Welcome to the app!
Oooooo what is this hug pillow you mention? I have a memory foam mattress, 6 pillows, and 1 very large dinosaur, on my bed 😂 I just also realized the beauty of putting pillows under my legs and it’s been delightful! I’ve recently started a whole nighttime wind down routine and it helps my brain be ready for bed but I suppose I need to find one for my body! Thank you so much! This was my first time posting here and I was kind of nervous so thank you so much for the help and making me feel not alone! 💕

I had to get a memory foam mattress and I have about 5 pillows on my bed and I just move them around depending on what I'm finding comfortable that day some days I need pillow between the knees some days I need to hug one so my shoulder won't dislocate and stuff I think it's about trial and error for what works for you my mom and I both need like a million pillows to make comfort mounds while my dad needs a specific memory foam pillow to be able to I'd also say heating pads tens units and unwinding before bed for a while also helps alot
