I explained my schizoaffective disorder to my boyfriend when the time was right for me. I had a severe, unmanageable episode of psychosis about two months into the relationship and he was very understanding and has been by my side to support me ever since. If you tell him openly and honestly what your experiences are, he should understand. If not, give him a bit of time to process the information and maybe send him some articles from outside sources that describe your diagnoses and the experiences that come with them. I hope everything goes well for you.

I dont have that problem but maybe your doctor can help find a med that helps with the sleep thing or hallucinations so the sleep thing can happen less. I hope you dont mine me calling it a thing im just suck at spelling
