Struggling with Sleep and Epilepsy

How often do you all sleep? I can barely keep my eyes open. My boyfriend keeps getting mad at me for being so tired all the time. I try to explain to him that it's epilepsy and all my medicine, but he thinks that I'm trying to ignore him.

I go to one of the best Neurological facilities in Tennessee. I travel for 4hrs to see them. It's my medicine that makes me the most tired, and we keep trying to find the best combo. I've had brain surgery, and it didn't work. So, now, I'm just always tired, and nobody understands that. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 8 years, and he, like I said, just doesn't believe my exhaustion.

He sees me have seizures all the time. He always stays up until about 2am. He doesn't drink caffeine. He just has a lot of energy somehow. He gets upset when I get off work at 6 and just want to take a shower and get into bed. He just gets pissed because he wants to screw around.

That sucks. I don't know how to address a boyfriend being a total jerk about something as I've never had a serious one, so I'll skip over that. If you still have seizures all the time, have you thought about talking to a different neurologist?

Well, that's made me angry. I think it's not an awful idea to tell him to pull an all nighter and restrict his caffeine. It might help him feel what you experience, at least physically. Has he ever been around you when you've had a seizure? If not, have him watch videos of people having them. I'm fairly sure it's worth you being pretty tired to avoid that. Honestly, I am anxious when I get in bed because sometimes the world spins. So I don't sleep as much as I should, but I'm too worried about stressing out my family. I lie and say it's allergies if they notice me rubbing my eyes.
