My picking has gotten 1000 times worst the past month. I pick at my face, arms, and back, but my fingers are the worst. They're constantly bleeding and sore, and I can't get important things done because I just sit there for hours picking. I have no idea how to fix this.

My tips are to either cover your hands or cover the areas where you’re picking. Also try keeping your nails short and your skin well moisturized! It’s a bit wasteful but when my finger picking gets really bad I’ll cover the tips with bandaids until they heal enough that there’s no loose skin left to pick (just be sure to uncover overnight so they can air out and heal properly. Don’t forget your vasaline!!!)

Mine for a bit worse lately then all of a sudden they started getting infected and it sort of forced me to stop because it hurt too bad. :/ what someone else said about the bandaid thing, I do that too now. If I bleed I put a bandaid, it feels silly to have several bandaids on for teeny tiny cuts but it’s a deterrent. If you pick your face those pimple patch things help me not to. Also learning about all the bacteria under our nails in my micro class was a bit of a deterrent as well. Nothing stops it completely… my worst time is when I’m on the toilet, I pick at my thighs a lot. So i try to make sure I have my phone or something to distract myself with, or I try to tell myself to get in and out quickly. But that’s hard sometimes because of IBS 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same. Im having a really hard time rn. I truly believe ive found what i e always been picking at. I have tons of pictures and videos. My dermatologist immediately prescribed me a dewormer. Then when i asked my primary doctor fir a referral to a specialist she gave me a drug test and said i need to talk to a psychiatrist. Im so confused and totally alone and now worried i made it all up.

I have had to wear gloves before. Typically I keep my nails covered in acrylic so that it's harder to actually do damage. I used to put bandaid on all the spots on my arms. It's hard
