Does anyone ever get heartburn so bad it feels like a heart attack and like every bone in your chest is breaking? This will last for about 1-5 hours. This happens quite often for me even though I am on the max dose of omeprazole twice a day. I’ve noticed it happens a lot after eating red meats even if they have no seasoning. Nothing seems to relieve the pain, I’ve tried Alka Seltzer and Rolaids which sometimes works for a little bit but it usually comes back after about an hour.

Based on the provided content, some individuals have experienced severe heartburn that made them feel like they needed to go to the emergency room. Over time, omeprazole became less effective for some of these individuals. Others found relief in different medications such as pantoprazole and carafate, or natural remedies like mint coated acid reducers, peppermint water, and a high fiber diet. However, there is no specific mention of heartburn feeling like a heart attack or every bone in the chest breaking, lasting for 1-5 hours, or being triggered specifically by red meats.
