Has anyone with both allergic rhinitis and a deviated septum gotten a septoplasty? Was it successful in improving breathing? I went to an ENT when I was younger, and they said surgery was the only fix. This was before I got diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. I've been thinking about getting the surgery now that I'm older but have heard that allergic rhinitis can decrease the effectiveness of the procedure. Also, what was recovery like? I don't want it to be too bad because I also have POTS.

One user mentioned having surgery for a deviated septum and other nasal issues, which helped them breathe better and reduced sinus infections. However, they still have post-nasal drip. Recovery was described as painful in the beginning but well worth it. No specific mention of allergic rhinitis was made in the context provided.
