what kind of simple things do you do for self care when you're at a low point? i'm in a depressive episode and have such low motivation that things like showering and making food seem too difficult right now

For me the best thing to do is find what I call “safe foods” they can change over time but right now my safe foods are jam on toast, microwave ramen and protein shakes. It’ll provide minimal-moderate nutritional value but it’s better than nothing

Ordering pizza and eating it on the couch while watching TV. If I feel like it I change my clothes and wear a new cozy PJ.

I struggle with my room being very messy so for self care I try to at least clear a path to and from my bed and make sure my bed is clean and comfy

Personal favorite is watered down juice, a simple snack, and a distraction like TV, video games, or reading.

Just sitting in a shower won't get you as clean as full on soaping up but is cleaner than a wet wipe bath. My slow cooker is my best friend, there are a ton of low effort slow cooker recipes.

Something as simple as making the bed (for me I just straighten the pillows and put the blanket flat on the bed), hydrating with water, washing your face or brushing your hair (brushing my teeth is hard for me but if you can then 👍)

Sometimes I try to find funny videos to make myself laugh. Distracting myself with music helps too

Order food if I can, drink water, using a wet wash cloth to clean my face/body if I have the energy, or simply changing my clothes. I hope you are able to find ways to take care of yourself ❤️
