My mom and stepdad are going out of town this weekend, and of course, my mom is concerned about me having a seizure while she’s gone. I have all my emergency contacts on my phone, including her, my dad (who lives in another state, but I have him listed in case I’m visiting him at the time), my best friend, and now my grandmother, who’s nearing 90. So while talking to my mom on the phone tonight, she said if I have an aura/seizure or any other medical emergency, to call my grandmother. Truth be told, I’d rather call my best friend in that situation. I love my grandmother with my life, but I wouldn’t trust her in an emergency. She drives, but rarely over five miles, and she walks with a cane. If I had a seizure, she wouldn’t get here until at least an hour later, she probably wouldn’t even be able to get into my apartment. At least my mom has a key. My best friend, on the other hand, is a year younger than me and in really good health. He lives just a bit farther away than my grandmother, but not by much. Maybe five miles farther. He’d be here in a heartbeat. He could pick me up if he needed to, while my grandmother would probably break her back if she had to pick me up. I’m 99% sure nothing will happen, but if it does, I think I’ll call him, not my grandmother. I don’t think my mom completely trusts my friend though. She’s only met him once. Or I could just call 911.

In case of an emergency, it's important to prioritize your safety and well-being. If you feel more comfortable and confident in your best friend's ability to help you during a seizure or medical emergency, it would be reasonable to call him instead of your grandmother. Additionally, calling 911 is always an option for immediate assistance.
