just wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions as I keep having panic attacks mainly when I'm driving I can feel it starting so I pull over in a safe place and try to let it pass but it always happens when I'm on my own when I'm driving with someone at side of me I don't tend to have any. I just want to feel my normal again but all of my anxiety and panic attacks started after getting severely bullied at work for being transgender (FTM) which then declined my Fybromyalgia so I now can't work. so if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatfully appreciate them to try and over come the panic attacks

I have constant panic attacks when driving especially when I'm hungover or about to go over a bridge it really gets me down it even cost me my licence a few year's ago as I found after a few drinks I had 0 anxiety while driving most times I find myself having a couple drinks just to drive to the shops or to get out of the house I brought a breathalyzer when I got my licence back cause I didn't want to have to go through the humiliation of loosing it again.

I used to get awful panic attacks driving after a bad car accident. For me, blasting cold A/C or rolling down the windows for the air to hit me helped ground me a little. You could also try the 3-3-3 grounding exercise. It is quick and easier for me to remember personally. Name 3 things you see and 3 things you can hear. Next, move 3 parts of your body (can be as simple as wiggling a toe/finger, or even safely bounce the knee of your leg that isn't pushing pedals). Take some slow, deep breaths, in through your nose, and out through your mouth. I am so sorry you were bullied for being transgender. That is never okay. Just keep reminding yourself that you are safe now, and you are not alone. ❤️ Positive affirmations and lots of self care can help a lot.

Some suggestions include blasting the AC to cold as it can help diminish anxiety, sucking on Halls Candy to feel calm, and bringing cold water. Slow breathing in through the nose and out the mouth can also be helpful. Listening to calming music or nature sounds may also aid in reducing anxiety. If you're anxious before starting to drive, taking Hydroxizine 30 minutes before driving could be beneficial. It's also recommended to pull over until you can manage the panic attack. Positive self-talk can also be useful during these moments.
