Gentle distractions help me. A textured steering wheel cover for example. I don't have to look away, but I can rub my hands on it to calm a little

I play with my hair and touch the buttons on my stereo to distract me. I actually had a bad panic attack earlier today driving and had to pull over and compose myself. It was awful!!!!

yay that's awesome. I love that. Definitely a work in progress. Mine does really bad with rain. I can drive fine most of the time. I'm working on the rain part still after 8 years (since my accident).

I have the worst driving anxiety. Constantly pulling over and getting out of my car to compose myself. I cant find anything to make it better. I was diagnosed with anxiety at 9, I'm now 33 and this driving anxiety just started roughly a year ago. 😥

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. It sucks big time and is so inconvenient honestly. Music & telling yourself you are okay are some things I try to use and others in this thread. Also I had no idea there were others like me ... It's weird I feel better that I know I'm not alone in this struggle and neither are you. ❤️
