I had the impression that if you had schizophrenia and took antipsychotics, then if you stopped taking them your symptoms would eventually come back. However I interviewed someone with schizophrenia and he took antipsychotics for only a few months and hasn’t taken them in about 2 years, but his hallucinations still haven’t returned. How common is that? And how likely is it that his symptoms will really never come back?
