the care plan im on has mandatory mettings with a care counselor as well as a psychiatrist, and the psychiatrist mentioned putting me on medication. i've never been on medication for my mental health and i'm scared as fuck. i just have reservations about it because i know people react differently and how you have to try different ones to see what works and they all have different side effects. so, let me know, if you had reservations about medication, or if its impacted your life in positive and negative ways. because i would like to take control back in my life, i wanna learn how to DRIVE finally

This is absolutely a personal decision, but I want to reassure you that psychiatrists always start with the mildest, easiest stuff. They're not going to put you on anything wild for starters. And if you don't like something, YOU are always in charge of your treatment plan.

Psychiatrists will prescribe meds. That's their main function. But no one can force you. Some people do well on medication and there is no way to know if you will have a reaction or not. You can always go off if you find it's more trouble than it's worth.
