@ReaBrooks15 at the end of the day it's a diagnostic word that gives you the right treatment. You are still you at the end of it.

Honestly an ADHD diagnosis improved my life. If you have ADHD, you already have the symptoms of it and your symptoms don't change much after childhood. The diagnosis gave a reason for why I had the struggles I had and there were steps to dealing with the struggles laid out for me by my doctor based on the medical standard of treatment of ADHD. Like, you have something you can do about it! And you don't need to tell anyone. It's no one's business but you and your doctor. I've never had to tell employers I have ADHD. I might be like "oops, I'm so forgetful today" or "man my brain is not working right now". And you know, everyone's forgetful or has trouble with concentration or organization sometimes, so no one raises an eyebrow. I once had a manager correctly guess I had ADHD and I said he was right then he replied "Me too!" and that was that.

If you are diagnosed with ADHD, it's important to remember that you're not alone and there are resources available to help you manage it. You can ask for accommodations at work or college, such as recording lectures or having written instructions. Using planners, post-it notes, alarms, and reminders can be helpful tools. It's also a good idea to explore resources like the YouTube channel "How to ADHD." Remember, having ADHD doesn't make you less capable; your brain just works differently, and finding strategies that work for you is essential.
