How do you reduce distractions in your everyday life, such as concentrating on one thing but seeing something out the window and going on a tangent of things?

I’m constantly talking to myself (in and out) and reminding myself of my task. However, if I’m pushing myself into something my body and mind are just rejecting, even if it has to get done (ie: I do my family’s taxes) I take breaks and set timers. I moderate my fixations and allow them space that way I’m not an adhd zombie bouncing all over not completing anything and I’m also not worked into a ball of stress in the “I need to do this but my mind won’t let me and now I’m freaking out”. Balance 😂

I spend time meditating on what gets me into a flow state, also meditating in general help slow my brain down, once I figured out what helps me get into a flow state I try to implement those things especially if I'm particularly distractible in that moment. I found having a regular exercise habit helps as well, if my minds jumpy moving my body helps it settle down so i can focus. I also schedule my important stuff out for the week every Sunday so I'll know what to focus on and that won't add to the procrastination, and during that time I scheduled that with my daily project is, an act of a presence for the day, and a person I'll assist. My active presence is always an activity I enjoy so I schedule essentially my leisure time into my week and knowing i have a block of time to do nothing important and focus on something fun helps me as well. Thats all i can think of from my end Namaste my friend
I have this issue at work a lot. I work in a public place with a lot of people and distractions. I generally can get my job done but some days a single task can take hours because I keep getting side tracked
Sound cancelation headphones and studio music. There are study halls on Discord that help me focus too.
I try to prep for things by doing what I can to remove distractions. If possible try to work in spaces that don't have windows, make sure the workspace is organized in a way that works for you, try to have everything you'll need close by, just make it as easy as possible to get that task done.
