I'm so sick of religion. If you really believe that some random dude created the universe in 6 days, you aren't far off from delusional in my mind. and that people get so obsessed with this idea that they actually allow it to let them abuse your children and make them feel like shit just because they aren't straight and cis, then there's something severely wrong with both you and your God. I've read the bible and it's full of crap. but sadly these idiots were abused as kids as well, so I do feel some sort of sympathy. but still, it's inexcusable. I have no respect for them.

I feel your frustration. Being surrounded by potentially delusional people all day is basically disturbing. I feel that everyone is entitled to their opinion, just don't stuff it down my throat. Alot of misconceptions and assumptions come from organized religion and royally f up people's freedoms. That's what really gets to me. I just wish people in general would let everyone else live their lives without so much interference and truly live by the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Simple, straight up and to the point. Hope everyone has a good day. From your local atheist šŸ˜

Im Jewish so my view on this is probably going to be different from others. But I see at least the Torah as a traditional epic written by our ancestors dealing with spiritual themes and our history. They were written by people who were flawed and had egregious views for our times that shouldnā€™t necessarily be praised. But I see it nonetheless as part of our heritage and something I respect (with a modern outlook of course) even if I donā€™t think itā€™s the literal words of god. For me itā€™s a story that has symbolic and spiritual meaning that helps me through life, even as a trans woman. The Jewish spiritual tradition is one among many and itā€™s not for everyone. Spirituality is not for everyone. From my experience in the Jewish community my view is not that fringe either outside of orthodox communities. Not sure why people have to think their path is correct and everyone elseā€™s is wrong.

I grew up Christian. I 10000% get this. Itā€™s so annoying how Christianā€™s think theyā€™re right. Iā€™m no longer Christian. Iā€™m a little spiritual though. Lgbt was definitely targeted in Christianity and in the Bible when the book was changed years and years ago to make LGBT look bad.

As a Christian myself, I completely understand a majority of what you mentioned. Coming from my perspective, no one, regardless of their religion, should EVER let their child feel hurt or feel like they're a mistake because of their religion, or even go around judging others based on that. In my eyes, that's not what God wants any Christian to do, and that is spread hate. Now I'm a non-religious Christian, so I do think for myself and what I think is right, while also having a relationship with God. My parents are very religious on the other hand, so it can be very difficult to agree on certain things, and it does hurt. In the end, I just have to tell myself that I know who God is, and it's okay if my parents don't, that's on them. Like that other person said in the comments, I also get very scared when I mention I'm Christian because of how hated they are and how bad some of them make us look. Anytime I mention it (if anyone asks that is, I never mention it in a forceful way), I'm always told to "burn in hell" and will tell me I'm hateful and delusional for what I believe. Thankfully, my best friend who is an atheist and part of LGBTQ+ is super supportive of me and helps me through those hurtful interactions, and I'm super supportive of her no matter what. I love and support anyone regardless of their beliefs and views and always will.. well as long as they're not an abusive and cruel human being that is lol Also, please know I'm not attacking your post at all, what you said is valid and you don't deserve any hate. I just wanted to share my thoughts on that topic! šŸ’›

@CandyFrog I don't care what you believe or what you do as long as you don't want to push it in my face or make me feel like a bad person because of it. I don't think being downright mean and telling people they are horrible or will born in hell is right at all, and I would never do that, I just find it frustrating when I see people being bullied because of things they can't control. As long as you don't hurt anyone, it doesn't matter if I personally find it dumb or don't see the point, I will respect you. I just wish people would be respectful

@MirandasUniverse Trust me, I wish people were more respectful too. That's something I'll forever wish this world had more of.

yeah, I just don't like them. And I don't hate you or anything but I think the idea of religion is kinda silly. I don't think there's anything wronf with being religious if you aren't hurting anyone, but when people go on about God and the "holy spirit" I feel such genuine anger and annoyance. It just feels so dumb. And I hate God himself, I see no point in worshipping him. He's an asshole as far as I can tell, so it makes sense most Christians are. I just don't really get the point of religion or why people do this. I'm not trying to be mean, to each their own but to me it's a waste of time. Praying to something that no matter how much you try will never respond. I just don't really get it? Like why hate people over something you can't even prove exist? Just makes no sense.

As a Christian, I agree with you for the most part. So many people use religion as an excuse to abuse people. I know how incredibly toxic and non Christian, Christians can be. I kinda keep my religion to myself because I know people hate Christians so much which is sad but understandable because of how hateful Christians can be even if the bible says the opposite. I dont even like alot of Christians. The majority of Christian genz and millenials arent as bad as the 40s and up people. It's sad but the bible said it would happen so I'm not surprised :/
