@BJSTREEHOUSE Yed it can take a few months to be effective. Remember its to stop the procession of RA. Not all the pain. I feel it helps with pain.

My Rheumatologist told me to be patient. That it can take a few months to get full effect.

I'll be going for my Orencia infusion next week. It will be my 7th. I felt like I was flaring and it wasn't helping the first 4 or 5 times but I have been better. I had to skip last month because I had TKR surgery on 7/31. The Infusions started after 1 year of using the weekly injections of Orencia. Had to switch because of insurance.

One person shared their experience with infusions for RA, stating that they have been on Remicade for over 10 years. The process involves picking a recliner and making oneself comfortable. A nurse takes the patient's blood pressure and weight and hooks them up to a saline IV. After a few minutes, the nurse puts the medicine into the saline bag. The infusion takes about 2 and 1/2 hours during which one can read, play on their phone, sleep, go to the bathroom, or watch TV. The nurses are there for safety. This person also mentioned that the medication has helped prevent severe deformation of their fingers. Another person mentioned starting Orencia infusions due to Medicare not covering self-injection.
