I would really like some support here, I just got diagnosed officially with PTSD and we're talking about getting me into therapy specifically for trauma. Is it normal to feel out of place being diagnosed with this? I don't like this...

I thought my therapist was crazy when she first told me I had ptsd because I felt like it wasn’t that bad. Over time (years), I have become more accepting of the diagnosis

When I was first diagnosed with PTSD, I was afraid too and had no idea what to do. I didn’t know how other ppl would react. I got into therapy and even though it’s hard to work through, it’s helping. Dm me if u ever wanna talk. I’d be happy to help and I’d make me feel better when I wake up in the middle of the night bc of nightmares and night terrors.

Therapy is extremely helpful. I've had my diagnosis a long time, and unfortunately, that feeling of displacement has never left. Finding people who get it helps a lot (most of my household is diagnosed as well, which is helpful) so hopefully this community might help you!

Get the therapy understand totally how you feel. My son hung himself and my husband and I found him and I literally had to cut him down. What we experienced will never visually taken away. I am here if you need an ear!

I feel completely out of place with it too. I feel like i can never find someone who genuinely, truly understands. I think it’s normal
