Recovering from Open Heart Surgery: How Long Will the Soreness Last?

It depends on a lot of different factors. How old you are, how your strength was before surgery, and how you're moving around afterwards. It's been 20 years since my last OHS. I do remember a couple weeks of soreness. My mom would yell at me because I was sleeping on the bottom bunk, and would use the slots from the top bunk above me to pull myself up in the morning. Don't do this. As much as it's painful, you have to build that strength back up. Use your upper body strength as much as you can. Be honest with your doctors about your pain levels. Heated blankets are a nice comfort. Also, getting a padded seatbelt cover will help too! I hope you get some relief soon. ♥️
