it varies depending on what the surgery is for, but youll likely be in a fair amount of pain and feel pretty out of it for a few days or weeks. youll get pain meds and be told to rest. youll probably sleep a LOT the first week of recovery. if youre given wound care instructions, be very very strict on yourself and follow through, no matter how much you don't want to
