does anyone else get nervous to do ANYTHING in front of family , even if you’ve known them your whole life? i get so nervous to ask for food or other needed items. it’s hard, especially when your parents just tell you to get over it.

Yes! My family will sometimes say very sweet things, but in the moment they aren’t actually there to support me, and tell me to push through or to stop focusing on myself. Sometimes mannerisms say more than words, and communicate that you are seen as a burden. It’s not your fault. ❤️

I suffer from General Anxiety Disorder, panic attacks etc. The psychiatrist prescribes BUSPARION, Lexapro, and Latuda.
I do.
Yes!!! I get this way in front of friends too. I think at least for me, it comes from being constantly shamed by them for everything I do (not my friends shaming me, my family shaming me). I try to just do things on my own

I agree w a lot of the other folks here - definitely tied to PTSD/ trauma & safety. I dealt w it by gtfo as soon as I could safely. I haven’t confronted my family about it, but making my own systems of support that they’re allowed to play a small, controlled part in feels so much more safe & sustainable
no ofc because its so hard to talk to them its like walking on eggshells
Yes, me.
I felt this way when I was with my abusive boyfriend. It really is super hard.
i really get that^^ my parents used to get really mad at me for not asking what i need
same!! its such a struggle to even ask for a new tube of toothpaste
i agree, letting them know i am a human even scares me
Absolutely!! I think for me it’s based on the micro aggressions they’ve shown when I present a need or want. The judgement is what made me shy away. If you’d like advice, a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen hmu! 💕
