Im cookoing for myself, or bringing my food to family dinner, so that I know exactly what there is inside....

I pace myself when eating a heavy meal and it's lactose free. Just a little bit of turkey because I have a bit of a harder time with ham, no mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, and cranberry sauce if that's available.

I pack myself a meal that is safe for me to eat so I don't make bad decisions

@korrin that's smart
Well, I eat what I know is safe. So, no gravy but I a little mashed potatoes are fine. If there is a bag or it is a snack type item I can look up the ingredients. I know things like Doritos are a no but Lay's are usually safe. If I don't eat enough there or know I won't be able to, I usually bring a small snack. Or I can drink a protein drink before going.
