I feel so guilty over this thought but maybe it'll help if i know others have felt the same way. I feel like I don't like my family, I love them, but I don't like them. Who they are as people is the very opposite of the kind of people I like surrounding myself with, I don't like who I am with them and I don't feel like me around them, they hurt me more than comfort me but I love them even tho I don't like them.

I feel this. You’re not alone. I had to learn to get along with my family even though I really don’t like them. I love them but we are completely opposite people so I chose to live by myself so I don’t have to see them as often. I only talk to my mom really because she helps me out with a lot so I’m thankful for that. I don’t really care to talk to anybody else though.

I have that feeling for some family members, and I have family members that I felt that way about once and eventually they stopped interacting with me altogether or acted so shitty that I can hardly say I love them as I don't feel I know them at all. Some of my family members hold views, opinions, or have hobbies that make talking to them or trying to hang out with them outside of family gatherings difficult, some are outright bad people, some are just inconsiderate or judgemental in ways I'd never tolerate from a friend. My brother was just kind of a shitty roommate and now that we dont live together our relationship is kind of just neutral. Either way it happens, you don't get to choose the family you're born into so you might not always get along well with or like them.

❤️😥 I get that. I feel that too. My mums and sister are awesome but everyone else... it's like they say 'your important to me' but they never show it. They say what they think I want to hear but as soon as I turn my back there back to not giving a shit. I want people who are will work with me and they never do. My dad left because of me, my step dad left because of me, (they both said so) no othe family wants anything to do with me..... Sorry about the rant. I get it, it doesn't make you a bad person, setting healthy boundaries are good, and family isn't always blood, it's who you choose.
