Hi, I'm Piper. I am brand new to this, so bare with me. I am extremely medically savvy, though I am not an MD. However, with all my, well, crap, I've had to be, as I'm sure you can relate. Anyway, I definitely have Hypochondria.... except it's warranted because I DO get diagnosed with big bad stuff. my immune system is a disaster, only gets worse, and I am constantly living in fear that "what if this is a symptom of something more, something even more serious?!" which, is the harsh reality. I guess I'm looking to commiserate and find other ideas of management of my issues. I have tried so many things, different doctors, diets, regimens, medications, etc. and I am seriously at a loss.

Oh, and anxiety comes in many forms you may not easily recognize. It's something I'm working on too, so if you would like to work on it together, PM me sometime.

You all are so nice, thank you so much!!!! Definitely been working on the anxiety as it's the most debilitating- I find it humorous, in a sick twisted way, that of all the medical things I have going on, that the anxiety is the most debilitating!

It sounds like you need to work on your anxiety, friend... and stop condemning and mislabeled yourself! If you have the diagnoses, you're NOT a hypochondriac. Your paranoia is probably more of a PTSD response resulting from the diagnoses you DO have... That said, I have an aunt who IS a hypochondriac (the conditions she says she has and then they just go away and replaced by the next latest thing just don't make sense) and I have been accused of it by family members, but I choose not to listen to them since my doctors and my body say otherwise.
I know before they finally started finding stuff I was diagnosed munchhousin and called a hypochondriac but if you are getting diagnoses then your aren't either it's OK to worry about what the future with conditions will bring it's scary best thing you can do is learn your conditions listen to your body and advocate for yourself
As far as being a hypochondriac, it is completely understandable given your medical history. Maybe try taking a step and looking at all the symptoms as compared to your own. Or something that I was told in school, but is hard for me to do with ASD, play pretend for a moment. If you were a medical provider and a patient came in with your symptoms, what would you diagnosis them with and/or what testing would you order for a better diagnosis.
Hi Piper. I can completely understand that. I am training to work in EMS and was shocked at how much I already know due to my conditions.
