I've made self-help progress slowly and I'm honestly amazed. I fall victim to my own anger triggered by very simple inconveniences multiple times a day, always have. But lately, without working on it in therapy, I've been more successful at catching myself and taking a deep breath with my eyes closed. I focus on calming down before I open my eyes and continue what I was doing calmly. As an example, I am very disorganised and sometimes searching for things really makes me mad. So, I take a deep breath and calm down before I keep searching and I find what I was looking for easily. Then I have to tell myself that it's not a big deal that it took me so long or caused me stress because it's over now and I can move past it. THAT part requires a lot more energy. But it's working slowly~

This is great progress! I 100% understand the searching anger. I’ve smashed a phone over it. But it never feels any better after you get all pissy and make things harder for yourself I learned! So as hard as it is to calm down sometimes, I remind myself it’ll only be harder to find what I need AND feel better later if I start freaking out

@T02 Thank you so much~ It's taking a loooot of energy and I'm always tired, but slow progress still means I'm healing. I'm proud of you, too!
