anyone else fully aware they have paranoid delusions but have just sort of accepted them into the daily routine? like I live my life as though every room I'm in is mic'd and cammed but not in a "I'm terrified of being perceived" way but more like "if they see/hear uncomfortable stuff they didn't wanna see/hear, they shouldn't have been watching me" kinda thing. am I the weirdo for just accepting new delusions and compulsions as part of the way I am forever

@loveshespoke yes! logic brain takes over sometimes because my hallucinations and delusions don't make perfect sense. no, there's not a bleeding animal in my kitchen, I would've smelled the blood from a mile away. I'm hearing something, but my cats aren't reacting to it so it's definitely not a real sound (highly recommend getting at least two cats btw, they're great for determining whether a sound is real or an auditory hallucination bc cats WILL react to any and all new sounds)

Thank you OP. Supremely helpful. Saying a prayer for your grandma up there š

no it's fine, she was a horrible person. not because of her definite bipolar disorder and probable schizophrenia, although that didn't help. but yeah she had high blood pressure and she hadn't had a stranger at any house she lived in my memory, and I was 10 when she died. that day she stressed herself out to the point where she ended up with a BP of roughly 275/150 and ruptured an artery near her brain stem. she was functionally dead before she made it to the ambulance, but she was on life support for two weeks before they called it

yea I don't technically have the schizophrenia dx but I am 100% sure my grandmother was paranoid schizophrenic, she literally got so stressed about a stranger coming to her house to fix the roof that she DIED. she was convinced he was gonna do all these horrible things and take her family away and it stressed her out so bad she had a HEMORRHAGIC STROKE and DIED. so that's a possibility lmao
@wise damn you can die from stress? Shit š§that's awful though I'm sorry :(
I have done this for as long as I can remember! I never thought anything of it until this post really. It's been a part of my life for so long that I didn't really pay it any mind. I havent been diagnosed with anything mentally except for anxiety and depression, but I guess there may be something else going on as well.
I feel you, I don't really know what to do about mine, I'm pretty self aware so most of the time I can catch myself and understand it's not real but some days it's pretty severe so I can't really do much about it :( I just try to accept it and make a laugh about it.
To note my sister has been previously diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in the past during puberty but I never have. My mind started degrading as an adult after a lot of external variables were applied to it. I definitely suspect a lot of my anxiety is associated with OCD and considering way too many possibilities from the unlimited roster available... Soooo.... In this day and age feeling as if you are being watched with technology etc rising like it has, there is more reason to have the feeling this is possible. Ultimately if you aren't presenting anything that would be worrisome for an "outside entity" to be concerned with, most likely you're fine. Enjoy entertaining yourself and whoever may be watching the show. Cheers

I have gone thru phases like this before but I knew that it was highly improbable and it sounds like you do also. Depending on things like computers and theories on simulated realities who knows WTF is happening. The bottom line is if they aren't coming for you and there is no reason to be afraid aside from personal embarrassment, your world is your oyster. If you are having a super hard time with this I hope it gets betterš
Im so glad Iām not alone in this. I have delusions all the time and chock it up to a somewhat overactive imagination. Iāll imagine people in the room or the same thing mentioned in this post that Iām thinking thereās cameras somewhere or someoneās listening (even though iām sure our phones are anyway š ) i describe this to people and they donāt get it but donāt know if itās an issue or not cuz I function and donāt let it overwhelm meā¦. Very mysterious
Not a weirdo. It's a little different in ways, but I hallucinate pretty frequently, and I've gotten to the point where I see shit and I'm just like, "I see you, but there's no way you're there" and go about my business. It doesn't even freak me out anymore. But I thiiiiink that's coping and adapting?
@wise Two cats AND a dog šš¤
I just kinda go with it I have paranoia scitzoprina but my husband has it worse than me. He could see the police two blocks away from home and swear there after him but he did nothing to have them come over he always says some one is out to get him but it's. Hard to tell if it's really there or if he sees it
@BlueAngel I have that same thought that someone is out to get me, and I could even list a few people it might be, but I've just come to terms with that and I decided if they confront me in any way I will simply deal with it then. that's Future Me's problem
